BAP Acoustics had performed audibility studies for the Puntledge River/Comox Dams and the Ruskin Dam audible public warning systems (PWSs). This work involved the provision of specifications related to the appropriate signalling locations, device orientation, and signalling levels to meet the Canada Dam Association (CDA) audibility guidelines. The BAP team also provided BC Hydro with specifications for the spectral and temporal characteristics of the audible warning signal. The PWS recommendations considered potential impacts on nearby residences.
