Imperial Oil investigated the potential application of Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) to remove two inactive pipelines that lie across the Burrard Inlet in Port Moody, BC.
BAP Acoustics worked with leading HDD expert CCI Solutions to assess the potential for night-time construction noise impacts on the nearby residential community. The assessment involved noise monitoring to establish existing conditions in the local area. A computerized noise model was implemented to simulate noise propagation from the various pieces of drilling equipment. The model was also used to investigate the optimal placement and dimensions of a temporary noise barrier.
