BAP Acoustics has recently worked with the Strata Council for Snow Creek Lodge at the mountain resort to develop new Bylaw clauses to control the replacement of carpet floor finish with alternatives such as hardwood flooring or luxury vinyl tile.
The clauses were developed after a series of impact insulation tests between suites, and liaison with the Strata Council and the suite owners.
As part of the “education” process, we produced audio files to illustrate the difference that could be expected between hardwood floor finish and carpet when subjected to the impact testing process using a standard tapping machine. Note that to hear the low-frequency content of the carpet file, you will need to use good quality headphones or loudspeakers with a usable frequency response extending down to 50Hz.
