BAP Acoustics worked with Chernoff Thompson Architects in designing the North Island College (NIC) Campbell River Campus Consolidation project. Comprising a new trades training facility to replace the aging Vigar Vocational Centre, the project consolidates all the NIC trades training programs to the Campbell River Heritage Lands Education Centre campus.
We ensured that the design adequately controlled noise transmission from trades workshops to teaching and study spaces. In addition, classrooms and study areas were provided with high levels of sound insulation and reverberation control, as well as minimal background noise levels, to promote good speech intelligibility and successful education.
