Building Acoustic Design

Floor Slab Vibration Design - Finite Element Analysis

We can provide design input to limit vibration transmission from exterior sources including road and rail as well as mechanical and electrical equipment to building interiors. This input will ensure that your building design complies with specification criteria such as those contained within project agreements for hospitals (in particular MRI/CT equipment rooms) and sensitive buildings constructed close to rail lines.

We can undertake finite element analysis to determine the response of building floor slabs to vibration excitation from footfall in vibration-sensitive laboratories, from trains where the building is close to a freight train or elevated rail line and can assess the level of reradiated noise from trains.

We can review structural designs supporting fitness studios, gymnasia and sports fields and tracks located in buildings above noise sensitive accommodation for the purpose of proposing structural design modifications to increase the level of impact noise insulation.
